Baltic hotels rank high in client reviews

In the recent PwC study of online reputations of hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Baltic destinations have shown remarkably good results. In general online reviewers tend to rate Eastern European hotels highly and we are particularly happy to see that Vilnius came 2nd in the overall global city ranking of Global Review Index (GRI) and topped also the 3-star category ratings while Tallinn ranked as the top rated city in the 5-star and Riga in the 4-star hotel category.

In online reviews, guests in Vilnius rated their hotels more positively than the average for all cities in Eastern Europe, giving them an average GRI score of 85%. The best features of hotels in Vilnius, say the online reviews, are location and service.

Guests in Riga rated their hotels slightly higher than the average for all cities in Eastern Europe, giving them an average GRI score of 83%. For Riga hotels, the highest rated features were location, cleanliness and value.

Tallinn  hotels were rated equally to the average for all cities in Eastern Europe  giving them an average GRI score of 82% while 5-star hotels in Tallinn received the highest rating at 92%. The best feature of hotels in Tallinn was location.

Also in Warsaw clients rated their hotels better than the average of all cities in Eastern Europe, giving them a GRI score of 83%. Warsaw hotels’ best feature was cleanliness.

The Global Review Index (GRI), developed by PwC, was the industry's first academically-tested general online reputation score for an individual hotel, group of hotels or chain based on data taken from all major online travel agencies and review sites.
